A Saudi Destroys his Musical Instrument.

He mentions how he wasn’t able to make a career from his music. I wonder if he would’ve still done this if his music career was successful? 🤔

I'm learning an instrument. Sometimes deep down I feel bad because the hadiths state that it's haram. I'm planning to quite sometime soon.

May Allah keep him steadfast, music is a addiction equivalent to a drug addiction, its so hard to refrain from listening to music, Inshallah before Ramadan I end it altogether. I had this on my mind for 2 years and will make sure to fulfil my desire.

How can music be considered an an evil and corrupting source of creativity when it has moved millions, if the intent is to spread love and convey the human experience and tribulations, then I cannot cosign that there is an element of sin

It was popularised and possibly created by Satan my brother, hence we Muslims are commanded to stay clear from this path. Even myself I struggled with the idea of music being haram for a while as it encourages creativity and tranquillity, but it's often used as a weapon to sexualise and demoralise mankind.

Under what pretenses? I agree that it can be used to invigorate lustful and dangerous thoughts, but to say that there is a direct correlation is false, even look at our own cultural musical iconic styles like qaraami and our classical artists like Hassan Aden Samatar or Maryan Mursal, there was nothing immoral about what they were preaching, it usually had worldly themes like lost love, family or betrayal etc. Music is a tool.
