A Message to the Somali Youth from the Richest Man in Somalia

Ahmed Nur Jim'ale owns Hormuud, Golis, and Telesom telecommunication companies.

He also owns Taaj money remittance, Salaama Bank, and many other ventures.

He has this message for the Somali youth. πŸ‘‡

Absurd. Religion has nothing to do with wealth. What a stupid thing to say.

Hormuud doesn’t actually own those other companies outright , they either hold small shares or operate through partnerships with other businesses.

Even the founder himself doesn’t fully own Hormuud. The company is owned by thousands of shareholders spread across the country, many of whom also have stakes in other ventures.

It’s not like Dahabshil Group, which is a true conglomerate with direct subsidiaries.

He went through some extremely tough times in his business life. Before Hormuud, he founded a major conglomerate called Al-Barakat Group, which was later raided and sanctioned after 9/11. The Bush administration targeted many Muslim-owned entities during that period, and Al-Barakat was caught in the crossfire. Overnight, he lost everything , his assets were frozen, and he was left in debt.

He managed to pull through only by turning to the Quran for guidance and strength:

In the end, all accusations turned out to be false there was no evidence behind them:

His story is of resilience and perseverance. Despite everything, he went on to play a pivotal role in rebuilding Somalia’s economy and supporting millions of Somalis, with his faith guiding him through it all.

The key lesson here is simple but powerful: accept what happens, let go of blame and bitterness, and keep moving forward. That’s the only way to grow and rebuild.
Beenleyda is back.
Al barakaat was (as Hormuud is today) heavily involved in islamist activities across the country. 90% of its workforce were literal wahhabis. Yes, they gave shares - ceded, as in isbaaro - to almost every warlord/armed man. But the company was owned by select ittixaad+Mooryaan+ganacsato, ie powerful men. Annagaa dalka joognay markii la sanction gareeyay, na warayso, afka ha iska taagine.

Hormuud owns these companies - weligaaba cabaad.

This guy is the son of a rich Duduble chief - he inherited his wealth and made good deals with ittixaad/warlords - just like the jihadi/warlord Abuukar Cumar cadaan.

Waryaadaha, naagtan waxay hormuud ama Xamar ka sheegto ha aaminina. She's full of shit. Probably, some Hormuud pr worker.

Anyone who has visited Somalis, knows that illegals run around with cardboard signs with local numbers on them. And when you send money to these numbers, foreign AND local names pop up. If these telecom companies cared, when they get harassed by these Ethiopian 'street beggars', they'd go and deactivate or report the numbers themselves. But they don't. Why are these numbers still working? It's not like Ethiopian 'street beggars' hide themselves, they follow people around.

I encourage all Somalis to visit Somalia to see the extent of neglect and or/conspiracy to cover up illegal Ethiopian and other foreign national criminal networks.

These Somali States and FG, pay lip-service to quieten concerned people, but in reality do little to nothing.
I live in Somalia. I get calls all the time from foreign speaking people who hung on me when they hear my voice. I have opened many Sim cards without any id/verification/damiin.

There are a lot of Ethiopians in my area who have these signs. Sadly, unlike the Arabs, they tend to spend most of their money on drugs/Cigs. Most speak with an accent/foreign language, but unlike you northerners, we don't know their languages and they could just be any Ethiopian, oromo/afar, etc.
It's also difficult to differentiate some Maay speaking people's accents from oromo - so, all claim to be Raxaweyn.

However, the government now has forced companies to not deal with any one who has no NIRA. I wonder how would they keep foreigners from getting them.

You seriously need to get a life. You sound no different from those Islamophobic cadaans who call every Muslim a terrorist or jihadist.

You’re not even repeating old narratives , you’re literally just making things up now. Spreading lies about Hormuud and the Somali business community on the internet doesn’t make you informed, it just makes you look bitter and resentful.

People like you are still trapped in a civil era mindset, clinging to grudges while everyone else has moved on, rebuilding and building a future for themselves Meanwhile, you’re online running troll farms and inventing conspiracy theories to make yourself feel relevant.

Exactly. Anyone who steps foot in Somalia has been harassed by illegal Ajnabi panhandlers. Even their children roam the streets with cards displaying numbers. And if we see it, the authorities see it, and the telecom companies DEFINITELY know all about it.

I always suspected they would hide among the D&M. They are already in Somalia and registered as Somalis, passports, ID cards you name it. Because who will prevent them from settling in IDP camps, and as if other IDPs will run a background check on them? There are plenty of Somalis born without birth certificates or other forms of ID, so if they can get passports, why not a larper.

We need a reboot and every clan elder needs to vouch for their people, hadiikale, one day Somalis will regret it.

The only Somalia you have visited is the one you have created in your head where Oromo's conspirators terrorize you day and night.

Funny that. I actually have people on here backing my statements, as there are other Somalis who have also visited or live in Somalia. Unlike you, the self-appointed supreme bootlicker and propagandist for Somali corporations and adminstrations. Running in every topic with paragraphs of data that suits whatever agenda you have that day.

Do you even leave your bedroom to get fresh air? Is this why you throw yourself "goodbye" parties on here, ma adaa isla sheekeesta?

Telecom owners don't care as long as they pay for the sim cards at the end of the day, all they care about is money and not integrity

Facts. The private sector is just as or even more corrupt than the authorities. But for some reason, the head propagandist for the Somali Private Sectory, Idilinaa, loves to dispute basic facts.

Oromos who come to Somalia are mostly poor people escaping poverty , a lot of them get lured by traffickers promising a better life. Northern Somalia is often just a transit point for them on their way to the Gulf.

They’re not part of any organized criminal network , most are victims of trafficking, with no proper documents or IDs, which is why they struggle to find stable work, homes, or any real footing. That’s also why you see them roaming the streets.

But sure, keep ignoring reality and spazzing out over them instead of looking at the root causes.

LOL

Are you referring to the same Oromos, who attack Somalis and who have a manifest destiny to take our lands for Greater Ethiopia. Why are some of you 'Somalis' so intent on downplaying Ethiopia's agenda in Somalia? They don't all leave Somalia, plenty hang around permanently, again, you'd know that if you left your house or cracked open a window.

LOL

Of course they're not. Ethiopia also doesn't have spies, right? No agenda at all. You do realise that the Puntland government actually stopped them a few years ago, when they were roaming around 'changing goods'. They always have another scheme.
But sure, keep ignoring reality and spazzing out over them instead of looking at the root causes.

You just hate it when people disagree with you, as you have an inflated ego which is why you always pretend to 'leave the forum', and throw yourself goodbye parties on here.

The public sector has widespread corruption, the private sector does not.

Whenever anyone on the forum poses a concern or a discussion, that doesn't deify Somali corporations, the topic gets stormed by this Idilinaa lady, who thinks she is some kind of authority/fact checker on the forum. Meanwhile, she doesn't even know the basics of Somalia. Which is very strange, for someone who thinks she knows everything.

For example, in the Bakaara market, there is Cabdalle Shideeye (named after one of the founders of the trade), where you could/can buy forged Somali and other passports. They also buy fake degrees there among other things.

But then again, you'd know that, if you ever visited Somalia or spoke to anyone besides yourself.

Suuqa Cabdalla Shisheeye ee ku dhex yaala Suuqa Bakaaraha ee Magaalada Muqdisho ayaa wuxuu tan iyo wixii ka dambeeyay burburkii Hay'adihii Dowliga ahaa ee dalka Soomaaliya waxaa uu dadka Soomaaliyeed u qaban jiray adeeg ay qaban waayay dowlado fashilmay oo dalka Soomaaliya loo soo dhisay, waxaana xusid mudan in mas'uuliyiin badan oo ka tirsanaa Dowlado Soomaaliya loo soo dhisay ay ku dhoofi jireen Baasaboor laga soo sameeyay Suuqa Cabdalla Shisheeye, halka Suuqaas laga doonto ilaa waqtigan warqadaha dhalashada, kuwa caafimaadka iyo weliba Shahaadooyinka ilaa heer Jaamacadeed

And that's just Mogadishu.

Corruption is seeped into Somali society on every conceivable level its been normalized, some people have rose tinted view of Somalia kkk

It's very strange. There is corruption everywhere on earth, even in Masjids. I can even ignore people downplaying corruption in Somalia. But what I find weird, is the agenda to downplay Ethiopia's long-standing goal of planting themselves on Somali soil. Whenever any Somali raises a concern about what they see with their own eyes, you will be stormed by 'waa miskeen', 'they're on transit only', and other garbage.
