What a smart businessman.
He was living in Kuwait. He was working there as a oil engineer or something. He came to visit his people back in 1994. He noticed that the UN personnels would fly in from Djibouti and then fly back out the same day because there were no decent hotel. (Keep in mind that Hargeisa was thoroughly bombed out by Barre from 1988 to 1990.
This man immediately grabbed a huge land for no lord than $5k. His hotel started from a 3 bedroom hotel to a modern hotel where many of you who have been to Hargeisa stayed at.
He now has a beachside hotel in Berbera as well.
The hotel’s name is Mansoor.
(it’s sad that he had to seek medical care in India when he has done his part of developing the country. He had to die in India because the sorrow state of the health system in Somalia.
