A guide for Artists: Phenotypes of Africa

I found this online it’s a representation of the different phenotypes of Africa. I’ve seen some people who are keen on displaying Africans as diverse in the artworks as opposed to a monolith.

What do you guys think?

This is very inaccurate. South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and Senegal in one group? Sudanese with Arabo-Berbers? Also is that one with the many Sub Saharan african countries beside it supposed to be "Generic Negro" ?

Why does the Horn of Africa look like a coco coloured Disney prince aka Eric from The Little Mermaid? :dead:

While the others are goofy looking. Hmmm...

Bet it was a Horner who did this. They think everyone looks the same besides Nilotes, Horners and North Africans
I could see that. Everyone else is just “Bantu” :silanyolaugh: ridiculous. But it seems like whoever made this had good intentions idk

Good intentions but lazy unfortunately and perpetuates the myth that they arr rook the same in Sub Saharan Africa cause they black. There are so many diverse looks in the continent outside of the obvious ones like Nilotics and Horners :francis:

I think all of this is pretty generalized. I mean habeshas don’t look like Cushitic people. The other groups you mentioned also have in accuracies

Yeah thousands of ethnicities wouldn’t even be possible to accurately depict all that

Because it's true. I mean there are a couple of other races like Khoisans and pygmies, and the million bantu permutations with them and everything else, but that's basically it for Africa.

If it was a horner who did it they did a terrible job, what is horner about that drawing? How do we look blacker than Southern Africans?

If there were no flags I wouldn't be able to guess where Somalia belonged on there.

im pretty sure that the South African one is supposed to be a Khoisan person, the eyes are looking kind of small. Khoisan are really light

Our one looks like the main character the rest look like crooks and villains:pachah1:

They all look like main characters to me. I think the slim facial features of the Horn African makes it look more like a familiar main character face. Although I think we can all tell which one the artist spent more time on.:ehh:
