Seems like she sent him an angry letter nagging him about what he was doing away from home for so long and that the kids are hungry looool. He replyed to her in such a calm and pleasant manner. Cute.

We should revert back to this script. It would increase the literacy rates back home and looks much more elegant than this current Latin based script we have.

I feel that this script does more justice to the somali language than the latin alphabet. We should really revert back to using it. Written somali looks abysmal currently i'd rather have this script as its more elegant and has a better aesthetic.

I like this alphabet, it's more connected without cultural roots BUT let's keep it real. It's not as practical as the latin one.
Af somali has many sounds in common with arabic but we also have stuff thst they don't have like DHA, the shaqal dheer (long vowels) etc. That needs a modification and the wadaad script wasn't standardized enough. Of course this alphaby could be suitable, after all urdu and farsi which are indoeurooean use an arabic based script and we all know af somali and arabic are much closer to each other than arabic and urdu, but the issue here is being practical.
We have been writing with the latin script for 50 years now, we have huge illiteracy issues and it's not practical to change the alphabet, the rest of the world uses latin script so if you already know the script you can easily learn other languages.
We should teach both alphabets but not replace the latin one

The person who wrote the letter used ط for the D letter, but ط has a completely different sound than D. I thought they used د to represent the letter D as in nabaD.
Very interesting choice

This script must be brought back, imo. Latin letters make the Somali language look primitive and regressive, especially the syllables "aa", "oo", "ee", and "ii".
