most of these words are new to me (Nugaal). some I know which is common in most somali dialects. I've never heard of somalis using words like "Samir" which means "to be patient with" or "Oofi" which means "to keep a promise".

The modern Somalil dialect borrows hella loan words from arabs, italians, egyptians and others. I think the original Somali was Af Maay Maay

Languages borrow from eachother ,there is no pure language, even Arabic got a lot of Persian, Greek and Hindi loan words , I mean look at the language you're using now, English is Germanic but it's full of French, Latin and Greek loan words and even some Arabic .
