Education back then was so good, I’m impressed. I can’t believe that 2nd graders had to do this. I didn’t do geography until year 7
I had to keep re-reading the text since it was a little hard for me which shows how ambitious education planners were back then. They clearly wanted 7/8 year olds to have a wide vocabulary and an above average understanding of Somalia’s geography, which is advanced for 7/8 year olds and would’ve been even more complicated as the year groups progressed.
If all textbooks for second graders were like this across all the important subjects like Maths, the Sciences and history, we could’ve had education be an important part of our society, kinda like South Korea or China. If we followed this path, we would’ve been the most educated in the region
