Africa's Newest Nation? Should Somaliland Become an Official Country? - TLDR News

TLDR is a popular news youtube channel and they made a video about Somaliland, discussing the state's past and future prospects. Thought the video was alright though I felt that they didn't give the whole picture by not mentioning the eastern region and Puntland. They also mentioned that there...

Election won't take place in the Somali region

What would be the consequence if ONLF wins the election? They promised before that they would seek a referendum for independence and Ethiopia would never allow that. This could be an attempt to buy some more time to ensure that they would be able to rig the election and sniff out any chance of...

OPINION UK ambassador subtly recognises Somaliland.

Except that other countries only started recognizing South Sudan after Sudan did it itself, who was the first country to recognize the new state. Recognizong a new secessioned country without an agreement with its neighbors and former country can often be complex and problematic. And the...

OPINION UK ambassador subtly recognises Somaliland.

I think that one of the reasons of why Somaliland is still not recognized is that there are no cut clear border between them and Somalia, which has changed numerous times over the years through conflicts. Somaliland still does not have all of their claimed territories under control and if they...

You shouldn't underestimate the impact of the south asians. I would say that they are the majority in in all classes, whether low or high income. But I do feel like Arabs including Somali are treated better because they speak Arabic. Nonetheless, Arabs are also sometimes mistreated in the gulf.

Some of them look down on foreigners, whether Arab or not, because I think that they feel like the country is for them only and that they can kick you out anytime. Emiratis are cool people from my experience but you don't want to mess up with them, which can result in deportation if you do so.

TRIGGER WARNING The Horrors of the Hidden War: Inside the Tigray conflict in Ethiopia

Despite the attempt of many Ethiopians nationalists to falsely deny the atrocities committed by the military, it just shows you that the objective of the Ethiopian and Eritrean forces is to have revenge on the Tigray people and possibly genocide rather than bring stability, supported by the many...

    OPINION Is Somalia pro Ethiopia?

Somalis are pretty hard to be ruled over. We were nomads made of clans that always fought and competed for land. Prior to colonization, majority of us were never ruled by a foreign entity.

    OPINION Is Somalia pro Ethiopia?

The government of Somalia and every other Somali state are fairly pro Ethiopia as you never hear them getting on their bad side. This probably due to Ethiopia having great influence in the government and having networks over the region ever since the civil war began. But the average Somali is...

DEVELOPING NEWS Cagjar Promises To Destroy ONLF

By the way, I am Ogaden from qoraxay and I do care for my region. I am just trying to contribute to a discussion which is relevant...
