Not at all
This is just my personal convictions
My grandfather was a colonel (gaashaanle sare) in the Somali Army. My family is very nationalist, before I am called a self hater.
As someone who did not grow up in a tribal society, being called a midgaan is not really offensive or humiliating. In fact, living in an industrialised nation and still clinging on to medieval taboos to make you feel better about yourself over your supposed countryman, even when you yourself...
You are inserting your own interpretation into this
I know my qabiil, I just don't understand the point in participating in these weird guessing games. Who cares what some odey "thinks" my clan is. God forbid he insinuates I am from an oppressed minority clan, well maybe we should put ouselves...
Wasn't being sarcastic sxb
I am surprised that not participating in the destructive systems that have plagued our country would be recieved with such backlash.
Food for thought :ehh:
Tbh I've never been in a situation where the person is really desperate to know.
At the end of the day, I know my own qabiil and lineage. I am not under any obligation to divulge that to anyone, especially a stranger.
There is nothing wrong with being madhibaan, they are Somali like me.
Lol I live in the UK, tribalism has zero cultural capital here. If anything it makes you a weirdo.
