He said forced. There's nothing wrong about teaching/including kids in your religious practices, but why the f*ck do people act like their children are personal property? "yeah you're my little doll, i dress you and dictate your life :)"
I think a lot of Somali girls would be amazed at how easy it is to take it off.
like most, I've worn a veil since i was a child (8ish) but in my teens, i simply got sick of it. It never was my choice and obviously, it didn't represent me and my values. One day on my way too school i took it...
i am planning on becoming a teacher :)! , i mean i'll probably remain here in Norway for most of my life (apart from a couple of years teaching English in East Asia)
But i do want to move to Somalia and work in public schools with children when i reach my 60's.
if that isn't the truth. They're so stuck up, getting a job is offensive to them. "how dare you expect me to work as a maid?".:liberaltears:
These people are spoilt rotten, i can't count how many times a week some random relative calls my mom expecting money like she owes him.
As far as i know, every single somali family in the west is sending a monthly bill to their familie(s). A LOT of people are dependent on that money, and i am sure they would starve if it was suddenly cut off. But i think it would be temporarily, maybe they'd finally get jobs instead of living on...

sheesh, this doesn't look good. can't wait...
ignore her, she's not worth the effort. just be yourself, if she doesn't like the person her son fell in love with there's nothing you can do:hillarybiz:
fat and lightskinned, hair slicked in a bun or something no preferences for length as long as its in a bun. thats all. they dont have any preference for thin noses or whatever you people are talking about. in somalia people don't notice nose shapes unless you look like a gorilla.
amazing i love that he's born and bred in somalia, true talent always shows. somalis back home have so much potential they just need the right equipment, it could be painting brushes or teachers, doesn't matter
i don't watch movies
the good place is funny, easy to watch you could do many episodes in a row with out getting sick of the show. great actors (kristen bell). wholesome. also Michael Schur is a genius! he wrote this show, the office, brooklyn nine-nine as well as parks and recreation:salute...
