Disaster. The EU and the US are running out of patience it seems. Only a fool would think that the SNA is going to get anywhere near the same level of aid that Amisom has been getting. It has already been 11 years, and Somalis have not managed to build a functioning government. After Uganda pulls out, so will Burundi. Ethiopia will control Baudhabo and Mogadishu and kenya will control Kismayo. Everything else south of Galkacyo will be at the mercy of Alshabab, with the US culling their numbers every few months.

What a shithole :mjlol: :russ:

Hopefully, the troops are on proper payroll and are equipped with the latest weapons.

With less aid money coming in hopefully the finance department of the government heavily accounts for where every penny is spent on.

But alas this is great news as the honors of eradicating Al-Shabaab from this country will be in the hands of Somali Trained Soldiers and not foreign people.

you're not an analyst you're just a neckbeard living in his moms basement

the security analysts of the world community are in charge of the GRADUAL pull out.

a vacuum will not be left, there will be a gradual pull out until there are at least 30k+ heavily armed/equipped SNA.

everything south of galkayo kulaha kkk nigga thinks turkish trained and equipped SNA is inferior to dusty puntland bicycle helmet wearing militia men :pachah1::russ:

You’re right, AMISOM is winding down because there’s no world power caring for it. France is leading efforts for its Mali operations, EU is more worried about containing the flow of the migrants out of Libya, and America changed its approach towards Somalia by favouring drone strikes.

AMISOM in the past two years did nothing. Like @Coulombs law said, it’s a chance to see the worth of the SNA in the next few years. Let’s see if they can push AS out of jilib in 2018 by themselves

No amount of Turkish training will imbue soldiers from the south with the "Asabiya" necessary to fight Alshabab long term. People in the south (except Gedo perhaps) simply do not have the tribal cohesion necessary for defeating Alshabab. Training, weapons etc... will NOT win this fight, and the fact that you think this is very very bad.

@Coulombs law I doubt any of the soldiers from Puntland will be stationed outside of Puntland. They will be trained and then stationed in Bari and Mudug. There is no way in hell our boys will fight anywhere outside of Puntland.

It’ll be a tribal outfit if the SNA doesn’t mix. We can’t call it a Somali army if soldiers from different gobols don’t fight together

So AMISOM is leaving, but what about all their half-Ugandese garac children and the AIDS infected local comfort women they've been using for the past decade? What will happen to them now that their daddies are leaving? Mogadishu already has too many problems, it doesn't need AIDS and more mooryian street children but that's the gift AMISOM has left behind.

Despite their AIDS and their tendency to f*ck local hoes, AMISOM has done a great job in pacifying the areas they're in and like others have said, it will be a disaster when they leave. These ugly skinny mooryians being trained by the Turks are not match for the hulky, internationally-backed Ugandese. The mooryians will sell their Turkish weapons and go back to their isbaaros within hours of the Ugadanese leaving.

It is impossible to expect anything other than a tribal militia at this point. Even now there is no SNA, just a Hawiye militia based in Mogadishu calling itself that. Your best hope are clan militia that clear out their clan territory while receiving their pay through the federal government. The creation of a multiclan army will take decades, time that Somalia does not have.

You can either be practical and go for the clan militia solution which is the proven route, or be ideological and try to create a "rainbow coalition" that will probably melt away at the first encounter. Any army you build in Somalia will of course be a Somali army, we are arguing as to how it should be structured.

I completely disagree. The current plan seems good

who makes up the SNA? How do they recruit? :cosbyhmm: Their exact number? Those who have been trained and are being paid.
