It makes me want to throw up.

...come to think of it all the old school Somali flirtation words sound a bit odd.

Can’t help but notice the frequent use of these words on SSPot.

I’m sure it’s supposed to sound sweet, precious and what not but it just sounds condescending to me.

Maybe I’m just not great at appreciating Af Somali. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Does sound more endearing. :dabcasar:. Stop being a contrarian.

Kangaroo Shukansii!

Is that what you consider shukaansi? If so, the Somali shukaansi must have been downgraded without a memo sent to all stakeholders. Mise waxaa tahay the akhii and ukhtii militia?

Angela

I once dated an ultra feminist girl and she gave me a list of these sort of names that I can call her and the most romantic of them was comrade, do you believe that? Whatever floats your boat babe, sorry, I mean Angela.

To me, walal is normal. But to me that's like a communal thing. Any random person can use it, and there's no romantic association with it, so I don't feel anything in particular.

Come to think of it, I think it'd be weird af if someone you're dating calls you walal. I'm having a hard time imagining that happening though.

I cringe as well too :susp:

How about "your macaan like malawax iyo malaab"?

"Let me eat it out like sambuusa on a hot summer day"?

"What that aafka do though" ?

"Let me hit it si xoog iyo si ficaan" ?

The only reason you are today is because your male ansestors used these words to seduce females
