If the Justice system was based on the sad wails of family members, there would be no system. She was tried as an accessory to a crime leading in death. If she'd pulled the trigger, it'd a been far worse.

She got 20 yrs but rapists get 6yrs?

It's a messed up system. She should be punished but the punishment was too steep for her participation. And the victim is a criminal himself because getting shot at is a risk factor given his illegal extracurricular activities.

I do sympathise with the mother. Even if your child is a criminal you will feel some type a way upon hearing that sentence. I don't know how she got involved in that when she's supposedly an honour student. She will have a long time to regret her choices. Such wasted life.
