it does seem rather peculiar that Firdhiye would choose to celebrate the Allied victory over Japan, the Nazis, and the Fascists. Given the historical alignment of the Dervishes with the Axis powers namely, the Ottomans and the Germans one would have expected him to show at least some measure of sympathy for that side. The Dervishes, after all, held the Brits in particularly fierce contempt, perhaps more so than any other adversary indeed . For Firdhiye to now appear to honour the triumph of their sworn enemies strikes one as profoundly inconsistent to certain sense if not altogether devoid of principle.
