When I studied the ‘Bantu Expansion’ theory the KhoeKhoe and San were depicted as a different group of peoples.
Some assimilated/mixed with Bantus, other rejected them and continued living alone

tbf africa could have looked more diverse. khoisans and relatives + niger-congo + cushites (including southern cushites) + north africa + nilotes. nowadays africa is pretty much arabs + negroid.
