@merka The OP was talking about homes and small businesses like cafes.
It'll still be expensive if they use solar and wind power. Fossil fuels are a easy and cheap option. They can gradually change to renewable sources when the economy becomes more developed.
This would only result in the destruction of the environment...
Proper management and government regulation can prevent that. It's been done all over the world.
Air pollution from coal is killing people. "Coal pollution alone killed 366,000 people in China in 2013"

Our population is nothing like India and China. We wouldn't be polluting nearly as much as them.

Once Ethiopia builds the hydroelectric dam on the Nile, they promised to provide not only us but Egypt & Sudan with cheap electricity.

Even in per kwh cost fossil fuels are cheaper than renewable energy. Developing countries can't afford to spend the little money they have on unreliable energy.

Energy independence is a national security issue. You can't have another country be your main supplier of energy. Even if that is the cheapest option available it shouldn't be more than 1/3 of the country's energy portfolio.

Walaal you must remember this is Somaliland we are talking about :pachah1:

We can't even put down proper roads that don't have potholes let alone having a full fledged coal//solar plant. :chrisfreshhah::chrisfreshhah:

We are stuck with Ethiopia sxb :bell:

What's the point of being independent if you're just going to be a colony of Ethiopia? Have some faith in your people sxb. :childplease:

A coal plant is simple to build and maintain. It's basically boiling water and using the steam to spin the turbines. It's 1800's technology, all we have to do is follow the blueprint.
