not so sad after all
Everytime people ask how im doing I say, waan ficanahay. Isnt that grammatically correct, but they always laugh, and repeat after me, or say some cheeky like, ma ficantahay :stevej:. When I ask them what I said wrong, they say, nothing. And my pronounciation is not wrong. Is it an awkward phrase or something?

I even asked my mother before and she told me it was right

Waan fiicanahey is good, some people say waan fiicnahey. I think they want to hear 'waan ladanahey/ladnahey' 'waan nabad qabaa' etc ignore diaspora Somalis, they forgot the sound of our language, everything is a novelty to them.

I see, so it does sound awkward. What if I just say, ficaan. That sounds ok right?

what northern language theres only one language called somali lmao wtf
North Somali and South Somali have split into two distinct languages. Please refer to my recent thread on Somali languages.
Tell 'em lmao.
Trying to correct me and shit.
I meant 'One hunnit one hunnit'
Not 'One hunnit out of one hunnit'
If you want to say one hundred one hundred, then it's boqol boqol. You're wrong both ways.
