I like my Somali food it’s a comfort food to me but Lebanese food is nice yummy and have wide variety compared to us.

What are you talking about? :icon lol:

There's no solid evidence for your Arab coffee point, multiple stories are out there about who first brewed it. But the once solid fact is it originates in south-western Ethiopia.

Ethiopia had chicken, multiple drinks, onions and other spices, multiple breads all since antiquity.

Most of the foods Somali claim as traditional/national foods are foods introduced to them by Benadiri/Arabs/Asians and Italians in the last hundred years.

Traditional Somali food is the nomad's livestock and its derivatives.
You seem to assume there were only nomads. There were city people, fisherman, and farmers. Which food of ours is from Arabs? Benadiris are Somalis and have been for centuries, the food is Somali.

@embarassing are you honestly arguing that our food today is an authentic Somali food? Adaa iska lahaa bariis iyo suugo. Suugo made with spices known to the subcontinent. Kaalay ii sheeg if you awoowe 5 generation back ever tasted the pasta and suugo you so much love which has rendered you 320 pounds. Waar yaa tan naga qabsada. I give up reasoning with her on Somali government and now her delusional patriotism has led her down to fabrication

There weren't many Somali towns people, fisher men, and farmers. The rahanweyn farmers weren't even considered Somali until recently. The ethnic Somali nomads didn't farm or settle in towns, they considered that beneath themselves. There were some fishermen like the coastal MJ but it was taboo for the vast majority of ethnic Somalis.

Benadiri are a distinct people, that are Somalis because they live in the country Somalia. They are an very old creole people of predominantly Asian (Arab cad cads, Iranian, South Asian) descent with some Bantu, Southeast Asian and Somali elements. Identical with the Swahilis.

Benadiris introduced most of the foods Somalis claim as traditional/national foods recently like desserts, sambus, rice dishes, spices, fruits like the banana and raisins, etc.

I wouldn’t call her patriot politics wise as she supports a Qatar/turkey/Ethiopia first administration working against the interests of the Somali people, however here she is right, food can be added on too and this changed Somali pasta and suuga is a totally different thing ten the Italian one and is part of Somali cuisine, just like how Italian pasta is different from the original Chinese noodles which somalia had due to trade before Italians ever arrived

So much BS in one post. There have always been towns people for centuries, Raxanweyne were always Somali and Benadiris were too. They are in no way identical to the other Swahili as Benadiris are nearly half ethnic Somali while the others you mentioned are Bantu. What do you know about Benadiri clans to call them separate? The vast majority of Benadiri clans are actual ethnic Somali clans but mixed, minoirity of the clans are foreign but they look the same.

Taboo to most nomadic Somalis yes but there have always been ethnic Somali farmers and some fishermen, just because the majority of the nomadic population looked down upon it, didnt make it any less Somali.

Stick to Ethiopia and things you know.

You don't know what you're talking about my guy.

This is an informative post about Benadiri clans from an actual Benadiri.

"Alot of people including myself before research believe that qowmiyada banaadiriga refers only to those of arab and asian ancestry living in the older quarters of Xamar, Marka and Barawe. But thats far from the truth in reality thats far from the truth, in fact us Gibil Cad Banadiris are not even a majority in the banaadir community.
Anyways the Banaadiri ururs are split into 5, the ururka Sheekhal Gendershe, ururka sheekhalada jaziirada, ururka 12da koofi marka, ururka reer baraawe and ururka xamar. These confederations were not even created by people of arab descent but somalis who are known as Gibil Madow Banadiris. The best example is if we look @ “ururka xamar” theres a firther split known as ururka xamar weyne and shingaani.
These are the confederations of ururka xamar weyne

moorshe; barxaamiish, reer aweys nuuro (THIS MOORSHE CLAN IS AJUURAAN)

iskaashati; reer sheekh mu'min, indhaweyne (indhaweyne is a subclan of wacdaan), caskaree, shamsudiin, reer maanyo

dhawarweyne; cabdi yuusuf (xawaadle sub clan), oormale, habar cayno (murusade sub clan), qalin shube, shaanshi

bandhawo; aamin khalafo (silcis sub clan), bahar suufi, quurwaay (baadicadde sub clan), oontiro (ogaadeen sub clan),
sheebo (ajuuraan sub clan), axmad nuur (sheekhaal- aw xasan kalweyne sub clan),

Even the baraawe, the Daqtire have always been known Gibil Madow Banaadiris before the war, which is why all over the internet, u always read that Abdulkadir Sakhawadiin was one a Banadiri founder of the SYL, even though he was Daqtire Tunni."

Benadiris have nothing to do with Kenya, there a Somali group
They’re definitely mixed with Arab/Asian/Persian but almost all their DNA results show 30-40% ethnic Somali and most of their clans are ethnic Somali. Idk what this guy gets out of lying and saying they’re the same as Swahili’s. They’re mixed Somalis not mixed Bantus.

Somali food is so rudimentary. That's why most Somalis can cook it with ease. Somali restaurant food is no different from what you can make at home. A completely unsophisticated cuisine.

Arab food has had more time to develope and more time for influence, given their history. The more isolated a nation the worse the food. Which is why Ethiopians have the worst food.

Aren't you mixed with Benadir? Don't know why anyone would be arguing with a person who would know them inside out lol.
