Also, it's not cool for anyone to disrespect their spouse parents. Arguing with elders shows a bad sign of character and must be avoided. I wouldn't want to be with anyone that doesn't get along with my parents and alhamdulillah, my wife respects her elders. She sees my parents like her parents. That's a real wife there. Avoid toxic women that don't respect your mother.

Some of these men talking about the wife being replaceable, just another woman, hoe, etc no wonder this place is full of bitter basement dwellers. A real man wouldn’t disrespect the mother of his children or the woman that birthed him, instead he finds a way to diffuse the situation.
Exactly. tbh i would be ashamed if i argued with my mother in law ( and on top of that asking my husband to pick sides lool). She deserves respect just like I expect my husband to respect my parents. Conflicts with elders should be avoided anyways.
There were even women saying "the husband is replaceable but the father isn't" and yeah, I didn't agree with any of that since I love my wife too much. However, I believe a respectful person would never argue with their elders. I feel like anyone that says pick a side are toxic. The husband/wife should know better and treat their parents in law as their own parents.
For all you girls who are reading this thread and want a happy marriage.....you see where the majority of Abdis stand..... fear the wrath of thy mother-in-law.

lol I don’t think partners should ever be speaking to the parent directly if they have an issue. It should be mediated through the husband or wife.

It depends on the situation, if it's something trivial I won't take my mom serious as I don't want trivial stuff to ruin my marriage.. I would carefully evaluate the situation and the issue they are arguing about and based on my evaluation I'll talk to both of them and make them resolve the argument, then take my wife home..
