Galmudug Election: Ahmed Abdi Kaariye (Qoorqoor) elected as President

A brief background:
President Xaaf assumed office in May 2017 after his predecessor was forced to step down for medical reasons. He was inaugurated in Cadaado with Gaas, Ahmed Madoobe, Sharif Sakiin, Farmajo, UN Special Representative Michael Keating, delegations from the EU, AU, U.S. etc.
Xaaf's term was characterized by his efforts to reconcile with the Ceyr Sufi party Ahlu Sunnah as well as to end the recurring border wars with Puntland. He was successful in both regards with Ahlu Sunnah fully joining the Galmudug government in January 2018, after a long and tense negotiation process, and Puntland and Galmudug not having a single war since the end of 2016.
Galmudug was slated to have its election in July 2019. Kheyre flew there in June to try and influence the process. He stayed there for a month and turned the elders against Xaaf with his generous bribes.
With a single statement, two years worth of reconciliation with Ahlu Sunnah was reversed.
Xaaf made an agreement with the FGS (with a large sum of money surely involved) and resigned, reportedly saying:
In a statement, President Haaf said that the federal government had failed to deliver tangible results for the three months. He noted the Federal Government was not ready to resolve underlying issues with Alhusuna wal Jamaa.
A lot more things happened between now and then that I don't have time to dig up. However, the broader theme of the FGS violating the constitution and interfering in the electoral processes of federal member states is clear.
The FGS has destroyed years of work in the Galmudug state building process in a desperate effort to repeat the South West State electoral process of late 2018.
Today, Galmudug has 3 presidents: Xaaf in Baraxley, Sheikh Mohamed Shakir in Dhuusomareb, and the FGS candidate somewhere tomorrow I guess.
