...why are so many girls I know paying for their weddings?
This doesn’t follow the culture and isn’t right
The man is supposed to pay it is our duty
Is this even halal at all? I get financial hardship but why marry when broke. The women is the backbone of the household, but not the main provider
Why is this happening? I’ve never noticed this until now
Thoughts?

well sometimes people want massive weddings and a lot of girls compete and try to outdo each other. Its only fair the woman contributes to it imo. Timo jilac families the girls family pay for the wedding. We should be more like that

Dowry system is the civilized way to go.

Father's wouldn't dump their daughters on losers if they had to pay for it.

We've bypassed the evolutionary selection process and just procreate based on the wealth of the groom's family since it's usually not the guy paying for it back in the days.


After a couple centuries of this don't be surprised to end up with these types of offsprings:
