African is prime for investing right now. There's a lot of gaps in the countries' market that need to be filled and resources that Africa can use and if you have the capital, you can establish yourself in the continent.

there's a reason all these rich people are trying to get their hands on Africa. They see the investment potential

Tbh westerneres should not have priority investment over locals in their homeland or that would close the market for the locals and diaspora. What's the point of trying to take over a sector if a non local comes in and dominates it because they have more wealth?

African leaders don't want to see any new billionaires coming out of nowhere.

Anyone or anything new is an existential risk to them.

Large companies are either foreign or some how connected to the ruling regime.

Even the current billionaires like Dangote in Nigeria all come from a family of rulers.

No one is allowed to rise from the bottom.

At most you can be a millionaire but they'll tax you to death so the wealth doesn't become generational.

Africa has the most resources in the world compared to all the continents, now when we have that in mind that means if they let Africa develop that would mean African countries would be the richest and most powerful.

There has been an attack against the continent since forever.

What's considered local? African only? The north Africans would end up doing the same?

Let's just have reasonable open trade with the just some basic anti trust regulations.

If Danone in Germany wants to do business in Somalia they can but they shouldn't be allowed to buy up all the existing companies.

There should also be some level of capital control.

Without it China would've still stayed as a dump till now.

It's African leaders too terrified of change that they'll dumb down their population and force successful entrepreneurs to leave their countries.

The leaders don't want development and the population is too stupid to realize that they're being fucked over.
