I don’t feel the need for religion some people describe, the “missing something” feeling you’re talking about isn’t there.
Only if you train yourself to not think about life and death and the meaning of all around you. That dead body on the bed whose relatives you dread their reaction in the hospital surely means something. Your day will come too when you will be a cold meat laying somewhere to be get rid of by those who love you.
We can choose to close our eyes and pretend life is meaningless and as we came to be before from out of nowhere, we won't be again. Wishful thinking in a way.

I think about death a lot, but then I see it a bit in my line of work. I don’t think you can claim I’m blind or immune to it. I’ve even been impacted by it in my personal life. That doesn’t give me the license to pretend to know the meaning of life, or claim one belief system is superior w/o cause.
Fair view point and sentiment. Except the w/o cause ending. For a belief system to be superior or more acceptable than others, it has to have arguments that make it so.. There is only one truth regarding the universe and its creator. There aren't many truths. People who object to a truth being out there are only excusing their willful ignorance or intentional disengagement in finding answers.
