Can we get some ajar today? How abt we make a difference in the life of someone back home.

This young lady approached me to correct, edit and even spice it up for her.
She’s applying for this Mandela fellowship in the US. Apparently they take in young people from all over the continent of Africa.

She has placed a lot of hope into this.

Let’s help her edit this. @Gibiin-Udug @VixR @NotMyL @HalimaJ @Halimo-2018 @Basra

I plan to use my business, in changing my Somali community by offering jobs, skills, add local revenues. Through my business, i hope to show examples to local young girls on the independence of entrepreneurship. This will really help boost young girls of low income background self esteem. I plan to also invest my personal passion, and drive in helping my community as no one can be a better ambassador than myself.I will use my skills to adapt into my communities' interest and growth. I will use all resources acquired from Nelson Mandela's Fellowship program to practice. I have a plan to focus all my strength which is Social media networking, using my Somali language

skills, and English for wider influence and reach. As a recipient of this fellowship in the name of the great man, i will assure you my life, and others will be changed forever.

I see that Syntax needs to improve. Rearrange some wordings such as the self description to make it into indirect whilst referring to herself.

I will give a better response in a bit.

@Calaf

Thank you abti

I swear I have no beneficiary intent here. It’s poor Ajar.
Just like how I send an iPhone to a young lady in Africa who befriended on social media and who happens to one of few Muslims in a predominantly Muslim country. She is a revert.

Let’s make this happen folks.

If each person can do a paragraph ( or more ) it would be awesome.

You need to exaggerate the hardships that you went through with these enrollments. Typically these programs don’t want to know how hard you work but rather how much of a victim you are, you need to develop this into a way that shows you seemingly over come all odds and are “trying” (key word trying) to better your environment. Each answer link it in directly to your background, for example for question “6- Population in Africa is rising at a rapid rate and with expanding prosperity. Discuss the opportunities and challenges this brings to the continent from a sustainability point of view.”

You could talk about how the rise in population ties in with financial success of the continent and how this can be a double edged sword as there will be a rise of illiteracy as an example being your country of Somalia wherein millions of adults grow not knowing how to write their own name (the better exaggeration you can give the better) discuss how population rise gives in way to children with disadvantaged backgrounds as families cannot afford to give their child a good life. Give a fake anecdote of how a girl you know in a refugee camp who wished to be a doctor but you couldn’t break her heart to telling her it’s not possible. The sky is the limit saaxiib, manipulate their sympathy and coerce them to give you this program and tell them how they too will benefit them as this isn’t just a random charitable event but in a way an investment in you.

Be careful not to exaggerate too much as they may treat you as too much of a victim, they may give you a therapist that’s not what we want, we need a scholarship.

Relax!

They won’t

Can we help her. Stop being like Scrooge

I edited her first answer. I saw that it had some grammatical errors and so on.

Here it is:

2 – What would you like YALI to know about you?

Nelson Mandela Fellowship Program will give me a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and gain skills not available to me otherwise. In the spirits of the Great man, I will be in an environment of likeminded individuals that have the same burning desire to help and make a difference in the world. The Young African Leaders Initiative will enable me to gain practical as well as academic skills that will be of great use in all my future endeavors. One of my biggest dreams is to use the knowledge gained to start my own Somali catering business called Mataanta Fresh Bites. By starting my own business, I wish to contribute to the Somali community by offering much needed jobs and skills, and thus also generating revenue. Through my business I hope to serve as a role model for local young girls by showing them that they can be independent and hopefully inspire them to become entrepreneurs themselves. This will in turn help boost the self-esteem of young girls from low-income backgrounds. I plan to also forward this passion for the overall betterment of Somalia. I will use my newfound skills to aid my country in its quest for economic growth. My primary strength is social media and I intend to use this platform to reach a wide audience using both Somali and English. If I am chosen as the recipient of this fellowship, I can assure you that not only will it change my life but also the lives of many of my fellow Africans.

If you can send me more of her answers I will help edit it
