bro I was educated in Sweden and came here speaking fluent English. I’m all for adding English to subject kids learn. I would also add Somali as a subject. But to change everything to English is pathetic. You basically telling Somalis it’s better too know English than Somali in somalia

Even a job in Somalia requires and prefers those that can read and write in English.
Learning in English will do far more for those students in Somalia. We are doing them a disservice for making them learn in somali.

Look at the qashins. The irony is in us Western-born Somalis being triggered by an obvious truth, and the locals that clearly grew up there and know it best seeing it. Some of us have spent some time outside the West, you know.
What jobs are there? I think that all Somalis should learn Swahili and abandon the shithole that is Somalia. They will lead better lives and have greater job prospects if they do.

I was in Jigjiga last week and I didn't come across anybody who'd have agreed with you. I saw people are enrolling onto Somali heritage/poetry schools en masse. Maybe you should take a trip to East Africa before labelling the language useless.

Countries like Japan and Korea both developed their vocabulary to fit the modern age so I don't see why we can't do the same. Most people here forget that the English language also went through the same development.
Another thing is that not every word has to be understood the same way. For example the word 'space' Everyone here understands what it means in English but in Japanese the concept of 'space' is understood in a whole another different way. This article talks about it in more depth:
