Olympic legend Mo Farah's younger brother has been jailed for four years after stealing £500 from a Travelodge receptionist who tried to help him.

Omar Farah, who cheered on his older sibling from the side of the track at the London 2012 games, stumbled into the foyer of the London hotel with a bleeding head last month.

But when the member of staff tried to look after him, the 25-year-old stole £400 out of the man's pocket.

Omar then swore and threatened the man before rifling through the petty cash drawer at reception and taking another £100, Isleworth Crown Court heard.


It is the latest in a series of wrong doings for Omar, who had pledged to put his criminal past behind him and 'be more like Mo' following a string of convictions for burglary and theft.

These must be his half siblings. Mo Farah has a wife and family to feed. There's no telling how much siblings he has. I don't think he should be responsible for using his small wealth to carry his adult siblings on his back. That's how you go broke.

Mo Farah probably helped these guys(refering to his brothers) out with lending them money once a while but probably realised later on that they were a lost causes especially when they do petty dumb shit like this, there's only so much you can to help your blood family members but if they don't wanna help themselves you're not entitled to give them a helping hand just because they share they same sure-name as you.

His dad has had at least four wives.

His siblings are in the double digits.

These are some of them, hassan his twin, wahib, omar, mahad,ahmed, faisal,ifrah,nimo.

The 2 articles above are his half siblings. Their mum is nimco whilst his is called Amran.

This is those times when Somali breeding comes back to bite them in the ass. It's unfortunate he has to be tied to his brother's crimes in newspapers. Especially if they didn't even grow up in the same home. Nimco raised some criminals. Was Mo's father present?

I just realized it said sentenced to 4 WHOLE YEARS! For 500 pounds. Authubilah. If you steal 500 in Canada and go to jail on a Friday, you'll be out by Monday and probably sentenced to a program.

I truly believe most Somali men cannot handle polygamous marriages. Usually the wives hate each other, there is hardly any money to go around for the 20 kids, the kids are deprived from having a stable present father, the mothers are not affectionate or nurturing enough because they are too depressed and tired as their minds are consumed by the thought of their emotionally and financially neglectful weak husbands. And for what exactly?? All round suffering for the most vulnerable.

This story doesn't suprise me. Also, blaming Mo Faraax for something his brother from another mother did is hardly fair.

I hope Somalis one day understand that quality is better then quantity.

Not sure, majority of what i posted is gained from media coverage since the 2012 Olympics.
