If police weren't allowed to stop and search people at random until recently what difference does that cut make? 3 cops walking around your street vs 5 cops doing it is meaningless if they are essentially disarmed. Your police dont even have guns and dont do armed patrols so where is the intimidation to stop crime? UK police seem to be a response and investigation force which doesnt do.

Police stop and frisk policy had a low success rate at best. It did absolutely nothing to beat in knife crime whereas active patrols did, no roadman is dumb enough to keep an obvious weapon or contraband on them. There was a BBC article on this already.

Arned patrols stay in their cars and whizz around till they're actually needed, it's the police not the fucking military. The deterrent itself was always the police since no one is dumb enough to go against 3 guys with tasers, CCTV on radio and backup a few minutes away but now with all that gone and just one guy courtesy of the Tory government there isn't much of a deterrent for crime.

So what has the Tory government to stop crime since they've been in for around a decade?

First off if you think the BBC is sympathetic to the right wing you are clearly smoking something. Second if people are carrying knives on their person and assaulting people being stopped and frisked by a police officer will expose the knife wielder. The fact that they know that police are highly unlikely to stop and frisk them means that they are free to have them on their person which may potentially escalate a confrontation they may run into and you may get a stabbing as a result. What has Sadiq Khan done as mayor of London? If you have a mayor who is incapable of saying that minorities in ghettos are at fault for this then how can you expect the national government to provide results with an incompetent leader. Ill agree the conservatives weren't effective and Cameron/May are both inept but I think someone who has a pair of balls will be able to address it.

You "found" the BBC to be a left wing biased news org, not even going to go into how ridiculous that is since you clearly don't watch the BBC everyday.

Never mind the fact stop and frisk policies were generally useless since you're better off searching for a knife in a bush, how the hell are you meant to have police officers doing it if they lost their jobs by the thousands because of cuts to public services? Your hypothetical situation rarely means shit since gangs in London almost always carry knives when actually involved in a fight.

And much like every mayor Sadiq khan made public transport cheaper (namely trains) which is practically on par with Boris Johnson's Boris bike's (bikes that you can rent to go around London), he's done much better as mayor considering he hasn't lied to the public multiple times.

The fact minorities in low income areas have a higher gang incidence rate has already been brought up. The solution was better funding for schools, police and youth recreational areas which can't be done due to a lack of funding from the Tory government and here you are pushing for a man who's best idea is austerity which we've had for close to a fucking decade.

Some of the comments here are so stupid. Goes to show minority men stay being the weakest link. Being a tory and going against tge interest of your community does NOT make you quirky. I repeat, NOT quirky. There are very real consequences esp for muslim women (but you lot dont care about us anyways lol only when we have to obey you etc). The Labour loss is a loss for the right side. This country voted for a leader that wants to exterminate us, supports the state of Israel and has garbage policies all round. This is not about you being different by being a tory you sell outs smh.

For those who didnt vote or ‘dont care’ because theyre here temporarily. Dont be stupid. Even if you are so called temporarily (wont question that lol idk your personal lives but okay) British influence is felt worldwide. Having governments that sympathize with your community esp with Muslims is important. You have to work for that. You think the Jews just casually were able to lead a smear campaign on fake/stupid accusations of anti semitism? This was decades in the works and from the effort of the Jewish people by participating in the political process and imbedding themselves into general society. For us ofcourse it is different because we obviously aren't white passing but we have to keep putting pressure on people and not allowing for islamophobia to slide.

Maybe that would be a good idea if the white Brits didn't have enough of minorities already and if the government isn't going to spend the next 4 years rewarding the midlands and northern England for putting them into power. too bad for metro London. As well where is the money to fund all of these pressing problems in England without ballooning the debt ridiculously. You have white trash in the Midlands and the North your industrial base is decaying and you have a rampant crime problem in the wonderful and multicultural cities of London and Birmingham. Fundamentally I think this boils down to the fact that as long as White Britons aren't affected by this black on black / minority on minority crime it can and will be dealt with after other concerns.
