Somalis back home are innocent to the idea of homosexuality, most likely they just thought the clothing was fashion and trending and had no idea it was for women.
I don't think so. Its just that feminine Faraaxs now have access to social media and therefore have a big platform.
Also, Somalis love to hype up those that are considered strange or unusual. An example is Bluemakeup. Despite being regarded as a scorned figure in our community, he has funnily enough thousands upon thousands of people viewing his snap and instagram. The very same people who regard him as being an abomination, eagerly view his content with fascination, thus propelling him to fame.
You might not like to hear this, but Somalis really do have a love/hate relationship with those that they think of as being beyond the pale. They trash talk them, but reward them obsessive interest and viewership.
