Things like that happen due to patent laws, which drive the innovation in the first place, more market would create more competition to bring that price down, not government subsidizing the price through tax dollars

Generally there would be less competitors in something as excpensive and complicated as producing drugs, nonetheless profit would still be number one. M4a would not only simplify healthcare, but middle class and lower would pay less on healthcare.

Nearly all medical research comes from America, best hospitals, almost all new treatments and discoveries are made in US research centers and universities, its also pay for service, you pay and get the best service worldwide, this is why world leaders and rich people worldwide come to the US, if your a rich guy from say Saudi or something and need heart surgery where do you go? US, right now where arguing about cost and not quality because US is the best in that arena, like when I mentioned Canada they come down the border small the time for serious procedures, your not going to waste your time and risk it on the Canadian medical system

U know why? Because Capitalism is a both sword beast. The competition and the greed makes human perform at their best.


But also socialism like @Knowles hometown is good because it takes care of everybody. Everything is stagnant and equal or guaranteed. Doctors are not promised super large salaries like america, but at least they have a job. Socialism makes economic security possible. (or welfare security, basic necessities)


Capitalism, u can be king today and homeless tomorrow.


But in the process, ideas and risks are taken to help the world


So the world needs both i guess

Tuki when you pay for healthcare it becomes a business. So people are naturally gonna sell to you like sales people do. That’s unethical imo but each to their own. I ain’t gonna argue my views as someone on the inside I know more than you ever could x

Nobody cares we all benefit from your inventions and get them for free.

The tax I pay towards receiving free healthcare is equivalent to my Netflix package. All of us if we live to 80 will suffer an injury and be disabled and when that happens the civilised countries won’t threaten their citizens with bankruptcy.

In my entire life time I’ve been in two ambulances and my relatives have had hospital stays. If I was in America my family would have been billed up to 40k. My lord! I would advise you to wrap up warm this winter can’t risk the medical bills if you get knocked it with something like pneumonia

Thing is with there salaries in the UK it’s a wonder how they even find doctors, I don’t even see what the incentive would be to go through all that learning for 65k, 400k for a doctor like in the US Is bearable

I am not questening that, ofc US is leading in the medical feel and most tec and Sciences. But overall US doesnt even seem to be good for that amount of money.

Canada technically has the best of both worlds in that they get free care on the minor inconsequential stuff, but on the serious stuff which requires more wait times they can just drive down the border and pay, (basically what my fam from there does)
