Lol this reminds me of this one African American Sheikh that came to MN some years back, he critiqued the Somali sheikhs for only focusing on what a woman need to do to please her husband and not the other way around, well he was banned from most of the masjids after that smh there was also the whole thing about not addressing families collecting ceyr illegally, Somali sheikhs just pick and chose what topics they want to cover.

Notice how they only focus on what women are doing wrong, our religion wasn’t created for these so called sheikhs to talk down women while ignoring to preach about the beauty of Islam. I’m sick of them. If you call them out brain dead women like @Basra will sit in circle and habaar you in the masjid. I hope it goes back to them!

I noticed that, and it’s why I stopped going to those types of lectures. It’s same few handpicked topics at every lecture, if they were real they will focus on the real issues of our community. I remember one sheikh at a Jumma Khutba asked us to pray for some bums that were in prison, “so duceeya wiilasha in noolo so daayo” kulaha, I was like nope they can rot in prison.

My brother told me, that a sheikh once during Friday prayer, asked them to pray for his car to turn up without the involvement of the police, Isoo duceeya inaa policeka sheekadan ogaanin.
The tea is his car was stolen infront of his section 8 housing, he bought the car and it’s not under his name, the guy that put his name on the car was in Africa at that time, so the sheikh couldn’t go to the police. The other guy ended up calling the police from Africa and the police traced the car in Cedar parking lot loooooooooool

He is absolutely right. Somali shiekhs have an agenda to control somali women. i saw political post abt the failure of somalia online about somalia on a Somali shiekh online page .there was a a man relating that to the length of somali women's hijab. It is just ridiculous.
99.99 domali sheikhs need to be critiqued but people are scared to.

It is so frustrating a lot of somali women dont see it they are walking around like zoombies. May Allah protect us. Sheikh cabdiraashid sheikh ali suufi and sh. Mustafe are the only sheikhs worht listening to. I listen to foreign sheikhs even they can be tricky but atleast i know the signs now hhh i can spot them
Don't buy into the hype of division - Sheikh Raage is particularly toxic. He's fuelling a gender war - he always insults Somali women, but he's married to ajanabis. He's a self-hating Somali.
