I can't speak Somali

Thank you lol. However dont you agree?
Anyone who says the word "thugy" has a white, middle age soul inside them lmfao.

My friend, I too grew up in an environment devoid of colour, but I use the term "thuggish" instead in hopes that it will trick some people into thinking that I listen to Bones Thugs n Harmony in hopes of increasing my street credibility

Hey man the White people like us because we ain't what they hear about Somalis on TV in Toronto

@The Kaiser

When Alshabaab and those extreme Salafi Sheikhs successfully and completely manage to conquer the Somali peninsula, Arabic will become the Lingua Franca of Somalis and cultural wars will replace tribal wars. Stick with your French and English, the Somali language has a bleak future.

I appreciate it but if I'm going to learn it I can spare myself a few hundred dollars and buy a ticket to somalia instead

@The Kaiser

Just try to speak as much Somali as you can. If your parents speak English to you, speak Somali to them. Tell them you want to learn Somali and to adjust their behavior to support that. If all else fails, hit me up and i'll skype you to speak Somali. I'm faaar from native-level fluent, but much better than the typical say wallahi.

As you can read in the title of this thread I am completely incapable of speaking Af Somali. I understand a few words but my parents who were both fluent in English by the time I was born never really taught me. I live in a white neighborhood in Canada at least an hour away from relatives (also all fluent in english) and I had no need growing up speaking the language. I've already braced myself for the xabashi accusations like our ethiopian friend @Waaqo of Punt. I would love to be able to speak Somali as I feel incomplete without it.
