Why do people see this issue black and white?
Is it possible that single Somali individuals were enslaved? Of course, all peoples in the world may have had some individuals who were enslaved but the point is that there is no evidence of somali slaves playing a significant role in the arab slave trade.
A huge number of southern Europeans were enslaved by arab pirates but nobody says that italians, spanish etc" were slaves, a huge number of Greeks got enslaved by the Turkish ottomans but nobody says "oh greek people were slaves".
Most somalis converted to islam very soon and arab didn't enslave muslims, even the Muslim bantus in the swahili coast were not taken as slaves. The vast majority of african slaves in the arab world were of pagan origin.
When the Arab slave trade started, most somalis were already muslim.
Somalia is mentioned in the slave trade context only because Mogadishu and Zeila were transit ports for slaves but there is no evidence of Somalis being a significant source of slave labour .
In east africa the only people who experienced significant numbers of their own people being enslaved are oromos, bantu speakers in tanziania/Mozambique, sidama , nilotic ethiopians etc.
That's the same thread where you got debunked by
@Factz. Somalis were never enslaved, you're lying.
