Armed with what? There will be a worse Ugyhur genocide and no one will remember them in 10 years time. Their best interest is to lay low and make the best of what China has to offer at the moment and believe me, all political systems have an expiry date including Chinese communism and then, they should grasp their opportunity.

Okay, that makes sense, but that means that the Chinese government sees the 'question' of this specific ethnic group as a problem and are dealing with the problem now through forced marriage, detention, and execution, which would constitute ethnic cleansing, and thus, the media attention being directed at the Uighur situation is justified as this exceeds the usual religious persecution of minorities in communist states.

Let’s not forget that this was happening to Tibet for decades now and even the high profile of the Daila Lama didn’t help the Tibetans. China threatens European leaders who meet the Daila Lama while touring their country with Diplomatic severance. That’s how powerful they became globally. The Ugyhurs should apply a different approach to deal with them.

Your own Bantu Muslims are attacked AT HOME. Say something for them. Give them the dignity they deserve and make them feel like they actually belong to Somalia.
