What an idiot, did he really do that? He is not the first to do so but he is African himself he should know that.
It is always great to apologise when you do wrong to others, but his apology seems to be insincere like, 'not my intention' and apologising to the Muslim African American Sheikhs he knows. Previously, he apologised to the Jews, Somali women and now, African Americans. Who will he attack next and compelled to issue a half hearted apology? He should alter his behaviour in not generalising and stereotyping others and therefore, no need for apologies. He should learn a valuable lesson from the Christian clergy.

What is "pious"? There are no "pious" Sheikhs, Rabbis or clergy, they are human people like all of us who make mistakes, but you are right, this guy (like most Somali sheikhs) tends to insult and stereotypes others because they say what their audience wants to hear and believes about others. Check the other thread and how most think that he was telling the truth and we are better than African Americans. He should be guiding people and educating them instead of playing to their prejudices. Isn't that what the role of a religious leader is all about? Respect is a foreign alien word to them.

I don't know much about those in America and I expect the majority to be evangelicals who are an extension of Jim Crow and the Alt-Right. But those in Australia, the overwhelming majority of them always come to the aid of those communities who are under siege from the Alt-Right and offer a voice of reason on their behalf and also, they support asylum seekers financially, lobby the government on their behalf and educate the public about their experiences whom the majority are Muslims. They organise inter-faith gatherings and projects to harmonise the melting pot and create an understanding among the followers of all the different faiths so they could live in peace with one another. They are a voice of reason. Meanwhile, the Somali sheikhs are like our esteemed friend @Omar del Sur who only knows how to regurgitate gaal this and these infidels and yet complains of Islamophobia. It is hard for them to fathom that respect is a two way street.
