The rise of robotic surgery !

Hospitals are adopting robots because the more robots they have the less patient stays in hospitals.

Surgeon in near future won't go through 4 year medical school and 7 years in residency instead they will do specialised procedures augmented with robotic and I.T combined without the need that kind of training.

The robots aren't autonomous. Right now they are just appliances that the doctors use, the doctors are still doing the surgery.

There is a problem though. What are you supposed to if they malfunction and you rely heavily upon them ?

malfunctioning?sh.iiiit, nobody worried abt that, they more focused abt saving life nig.aah

doctors will become obsolete due to ai

You will require human knowledge to feed into the AI systems. Less labor for surgeons is foreseeable but nothing like a world without them. People educated in medicine who don't perform surgeries will remain in demand as well.

Engineers are still fine tuning self driving cars. It is difficult to mimmick human beings in a 100% capacity.

its inevitable that down the road they become obsolete, you can program these AI systems to do it and eventually there will be a world without them as the whole industry becomes robotized, major possibility as mark cuban said that the next big billionaire is in the AI medical field, who ever does it first probably wins as then it can be replicated everywhere

AI systems know what is taught to them and can not do anything beyond what their program entails without causing problems.

Everything a robot does is something programmed into them. They don't think for themselves.

not entirely true as AI systems created new strategies in chess, for example and that AI can code or program itself
eventually they will expand on this so it can program itself fully, so even programmers will be obsolete

That same ability to adjust like humans do is preprogrammed into the AI. Still dependent on human teaching.

The chess game has finite moves and all these are preprogrammed into AI systems to play the game like a human would.

There is never gonna be an equivalent to the human brain. All AIs are limited by data.

sxb all doctors go off is data anyways so fully replaceable, also yes AI has created its own new strategies in chess not one programmed in it

There can't be an unknown move in chess. The grid is finite, the moves are finite though many. It is a matter of strategy and preventing an opponent to checkmate you. All these are taught to the AI machine.

Human beings are limited themselves to what they know or can learn. A system such as AI which they build suffers the same limitations at best.

They recently fixed bugs in face recognition AI softwares. These systems were misidentifying women, and blacks as criminals. Guess why?

The people who did the AI teaching wrote the bias into the AI system program codes.

I will find a video of proximity sensors failing to work because of a dark skin but worked fine with a lighter skin. Guess why? The product designers did not make the assumption a dark skin needs to trigger the sensor as a light skin should. The company had to rewrite the code for their sensors.

eventually (say 30 years) AI will be the programmers so this will be a non issue

You mean the current shortcomings in the AI systems will be fixed? And they will get smarter and act more like humans with their own conscious? The latter Will never happen saxib. That is hollywood stuff and fun to entertain. Reality of AI is different. AI will get more sophisticated to do complex tasks humans are apt in doing, but AI will always be limited to the data fed into them. Two main applications are NLP and deep learning(self driving cars use this to perfect their navigation).

Have you seen the following movies?

EX Machina
I - Robot
Her

They push on the notion of AI having consciousness. You might like the movies seeing your solid belief in AI systems.
