Gambia has filed a case against Burma

Europeans have more space to browbeat other people about human rights because they have done a better job in protecting minority rights within their own borders. That's why millions of Muslims and Somalis are willing to risk their lives literally to arrive in Europe. However, human rights is not the only concern that motivates European behavior. Often times, as you allude to, they are pursuing their own national interests in some way. But with this situation, Gambia not only has a poor record of protecting human rights within its own country, it also doesn't even seem to be pursuing any obvious national interest. It's a waste of resources and time---unless the Gambia government wants to use this issue to distract its population from their domestic troubles, which is a possibility.

Shocked that a diseased dog like @Samaalic Era would create this thread using his other alias, and celebrate Gambia taking Burma to court over "human rights violations" against Muslims when he leads daily cheerleading sessions for the idea of dispossessing and deporting millions of Muslim Bantu Somalis simply because of what they look like. Does this dog have no shame or desire to even conceal his moral hypocrisy?

You're a disturbed individual. I will proceed to make dua for you. May Allah guide you to siratul mastaqeem or may Allah destroy.

Western Europeans have done a better job in protecting minority rights only because they violated the human rights of all other peoples on this planet to a far greater extent than any one else and for such a long period of time that some of their own people felt so bad that it was turned into a catalyst for directing public opinion. Their primary motivator is selfish - whether it's for natural resources abroad, or votes from kind-hearted citizens at home.
I agree that Africans should focus on African issues first, and I also agree with you in that places like Bangladesh should have taken charge of this, but as was seen during the relatively recent events in places such as Central African Republic, any genocide is relevant to every African nation. It is a fact that many nations around are in civil discord, and it's also a fact that most 'Muslim' nations don't care about the suffering of other people, as is seen in the behaviour of all Arab states, which is all the more reason why a tiny nation such as Gambia should be commended. Lastly, I don't think filing a complaint with the UN is particularly resource intensive.

If a country is killing environmental activist in its own country while persecuting people on the basis of their sexuality, something they have no control over, then I don't believe that nation has any moral grounds or authority to criticize another nation, let alone take it to court.

Violence should be condemned everywhere. I'm not saying that Gambia doesn't have it's own issues; what I'm saying is that Gambia has a right to forward a complaint with the ICC without every domestic issue under the sun being flung against it. Do you believe that the Netherlands has any moral justification in having the Hague after their own treatment of South Africans? Just because a country has done something wrong in the past doesn't void their right to confront wrongs today. France speaks a lot about things going on abroad, but their citizens today cannot afford basic necessities such as gasoline for their tractors on farms. That doesn't stop France from criticizing Brazil for it's handling of the fires in the Amazon. If you believe Gambia should remain quiet, which you have every right to believe, you should also believe that western European nations should remain quiet too.

I still disagree, in my view the distance between France and Gambia on human rights is quite considerable, but I'll admit, you're the first Islamist type on this forum that has me shook that he's actually arguing back with well put together, logical arguments. was not expecting that :farmajoyaab::salute::wow1:

I love my Gambian brothers and I do not think they should be called Madows. They are Muslims and respect them as brothers of Islam. They have stood for the Muslims of Burma against the abuse from Buddhists mashaallah:it0tdo8::it0tdo8::it0tdo8::it0tdo8::nvjpqts::dzmxmmb:

If they hadn’t stood up for fairer skin Muslims would you still want to call them Madows and apes like the other Somali men here do...

Gambians are Muslims if they weren’t and were animist or Christians I’d still respect them. I only use the word Madow politically not racially
