And no-one will recognize you. Nor is it guaranteed that they'd split just to make some somalis happy. Tigray cannot afford to be independent, landlocked and sandwiched between at least 2 enemies (Amhara and Eritrea).

That sounds nice but let's be honest.. If America and/or European elites don't see Ethiopia disintegrating as being in their interests; any secessionist movements will have the odds against them indeed.
Eritrea had borders already established since colonial times, and won overwhelmingly in war to the point no one could stop their independence.

We wouldn’t need recognition. It would join an already existing nation.

Somalis stand no chance because Ethiopia's mechanized divisions would roll across our plains in under 48 hours. We have nowhere to hide. The Oromos though can wage a war of independence because they have mountains. If the Oromo rose up as a state in rebellion, there is nothing the US or the EU could do to stop Ethiopia from falling apart.

In what world does any country give up territory? What would be the benefit? Its not like the SL govt is friendly or reasonable, so why do you feel that way?

Personally I do think Galbeed will rejoin eventually, and I dont support any secessionism, for the record. Reading SL secessionists posts online/the news over the past couple years solidified that for me. I was more sympathetic before.

a well equiped ogaden can fight a defensive war against ethiopia. it took them 30+ to "take down" onlf, the us even proposed a referdum to ethiopia.
imagine what would happenen when all somalis decided to rebel against ethiopia.

The 30 years was mostly civil war throughout the country it doesn’t really mean anything.

I ont believe a clear majority want to leave, has to be proven by fair votes done by a group outside the SL government
