Does Ali Khalif understand Somali culture or does he think Somalis buy into short-term political alliances? This is ANCIENT BARI your talking about here now who probably have the best level knowledge in tribal matters and kingdom matters in all the nation. This shows me how Somalis do not study the region they are talking about and they come in with they're regional view point or tribal view point and it ends up in 'political clash or war' and then back to 'stalemate' for another couple of years and it's another conference.

I learned something about 'degaan' in Somalia. It's important but it's not something that is workable for centuries. U can agree to something like keep the peace, move on with life, we share a common area, but this can change just as quick as political idealogies when he finds another partner. A good example is walalaha galgaduud or red sand coalition. I would not join those unrealiable coalitions that can turn on each other because it's not blood, it's only interests. U can break them up quickly by guaranteeing one side something and he will put the bullet on the red sand coalition member.
