I agree the past Sudanese governments treated Southern Sudanese people like shit, we tried to enforce our religion and language on them but they were ''okay'' with it because the South was at least stable after the peace argeement. As soon as they got their independence, the problem was never with the North, but amongst themselves. You see the two biggest tribes in South Sudan, Nuer and Dinka butchering each other to death, they are all Christian and share the same Languages.

John Garang, was probably killed by the Sudanese government who knows. I think he was still alive, the South wouldn't have split up.

Its for sure western meddling, and those european missionaries. They couldnt bare to see an entire ethnicity becoming muslim that they rather send them into anarchy.

The previous Sudanese Governments never tried to implement ''Pan-Arabism'' amongst the Southern Sudanese, it was more of an extreme brand of Islamic fundamentalism. You could argue that the two ideologies intertwined with each other.

Islamic fundamentalism preaches that the Quran and Sunnah which is written in Arabic should be spoken and taught in the state even amongst non-Muslims and Pan-Arabists suggest that a country should be formed based on one identity and that is the ''Arab identity'' only and all other cultures/languages should be ignored.

Turabi was the shit face, who started all of this. He essentially was the godfather of Islamic Politics in Sudan.
