We want stability and the best for Mogadishu but we don't want to rule Mogadishu or for Mogadishu to rule us.

Let's respect each other's desire for self rule.

21 years of Siyad Barre was enough of a nightmare and we all know how that ended.

We agreed to be part of the same nation but don't push us.

The point is that of you want true federalism you have to allow the central govt to rule you at least to some degree.
It's not about Mogadishu ruling you, it's about all federal states being ruled by a central stable govt that represents every Somali.
As I said before foreign policy is an example. The central govt makes deals with other countries, If you want to make a deal with someone u have to ask the central govt in Xamar first.
This how federalism works, are u willing to accept this scenario?
If you still believe in one Somalia you have to accept some degree of central government ruling.
Honestly I don't care as far as I'm concerned the capital can be in hargeysa Garowe or Bosaso, my only goal is to keep Somalia united

Federalism is a cancer and a danger to the life of man. Somalia needs centralized gov. It's good step that education is slowly transferring over to the fgs and hopefully all sectors will be under Thier control and squeeze all power from federal states. Down with Somali land punt land galmudg sws hir and jubaland one central gov one leader either farmajo but I would prefer strong man khyere.

Federalism means we are united under one nation, one flag, one unified army, one foreign policy.

Nothing more.

We don't need so sit on each other's laps.

There is nothing wrong with federalism, I support federalism

What I am against is mini countries that have their own armies and their own foreign policy.

Federalism yes, mini countries no.

Federalism also means airports and sea ports are controlled by the central government.

And schools curriculum is set by the government.

Stuff like health service and licensing of major business like banks and natural resources.

Federalism is quite dangerous in itself, I surely wouldn't of accepted it, must of been some great 'tanasul' on PL side. I personally wouldn't put PL currency lifeline, security, or foreign lifelines in the hands of Mogadishu. That is way to much power and can cripple PL if in the hands of a nation that lacks institutions that are strong.

We should've of put a clause that these tasks will only be handed over when there is strong working institution, courts of law, and 20 years of 'Mogadishu' in peace and development and achieving all the goals of the constitution, till then PL is independent from Mogadishu. I would sign that, I wouldn't sign a deal handing everything over, to who? Farmajo LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL, His own people are living like rats uusan waxba uu samayn 30 years, he will talk about my well being?

Puntite this is when I feel the taste of PIM. I would tell the foreign world when ur prepared to leave Xalane and out of shipping containers and pass your security to Somalia, then I will consider the same, till then don't force me to do something you won't do. White people don't even trust them with budget support or donations, it comes thru like NGO and stuff. So why should I trust the Somali govt with my CURRENCY AND REVENUE DISTRIBUTION? I would've told the Hamar boys to get fucked wallahi and say arimaha dhaqaalaha dalka siiba kan lagu helo magaca somalida qof walbo tiisa ha radsado si gooni ah.

It's better to decentralize the funding for development and have all get some development funds then to have one place get all the money and it never reaching other areas. Centralism is not coming back.

i.e. "Don't put your eggs in one basket"

There's no doubt, federalism is here to stay, but the question becomes, do we want a federation or confederation?

This is where I see the center of the debate.

Yeah confederation vs federalism is the discussion. Medium Intensity federalism vs a Looser Federalism. I can entertain this discussion, centralism is just un-thinkable since it's what caused our civil war in the first place, to say you will repeat it again and achieve a different result will require a-lot of faith. Even an Islamist like @Cognitivedissonance has RULED that option out and he love MUSLIM UNITY.

I would argue your central bank and currency and banking system registrations being located in Mogadishu can have a huge impact if they decide to cut that lifeline to you like they are now with madoobe over airports lol. They are simply not mature enough to trust such critical lifelines to a state. Foreign affairs is another one since PL has historic relationships to maintain and neighbors who the southerners are not effected by across the red sea. So this is a big one foreign affair matters being solely in the hand of Farmaajo isn't wise.

Security apparatus scares me the most. All weapons and arms centralized to Mogadishu? who in the world signed this nonsense of federalism, mise waxay ka ahayd 'ku meel gaar keliya' meaning we will work on this now till we find something more REALISTIC later. I am not going to pass my security apparatus to Mogadishu when Xalane prefer living in shipping containers then be hosted by Mogadishu. This is uncalled for to expect PL to do something a foreigner won't do himself.

The only thing I think hurting Majerten is our 'naxaris' and 'religiosity' which can be seen as a weakness, people take advantage of it thinking 'ilahi ayuu ka baqaya'. Waryaa ina gumeed, anigu kuma nooli naxarista 'islamka', waxan ku nool ahay awoowahay ayaa dhul, saldanad, iyo umad ii reebay, anigu magan uguma ahi niin xun aduunka joggo ma garatay. I am gobanimo majerten, you are lucky you have this @Cognitivedissonance among us who loves u cause of ISLAM, but remember at all times, Majerten also have they're tribalist arm called SSDF and we are powerful as HELL. Look what that Bah dir boy got in the election, the PSF GUY. Diyano. 31 votes against 35. He is killing all u islamist, tribalist, or anyone against PUNTLANDNIMO. We are the arm of majerten that ensures our name and bloodline is alive, we ain't going to accept ajuuran outcome for ourselves and we will ensure @Cognitivedissonance Goes back to the mosque and helps the IDP running from HAWIYNIMO.

There needs to be more discussions and conferences on these issues. Particularly discussing where the state has control and where the FGS has control.

Unfortunately, the current admin is more interested in getting a hold on some of the federal states and selecting their puppet that would support them in the next election.
