Garowe Capital Nomination History

PDRC should release all archives of PL founding in 1998. I am sick of them releasing footage when a certain topic is happening to remind us of 1998 conference who dealt with the same issue back then. All this should be released. I will definitely be attending PDRC institute who keeps a-lot of this stuff.

You can see 'Xaabsade' sitting there at the 1:17 mark.

Garowe was clearly selected for one reason. The weather is semi decent, it's not seasonal like Bosaso. It's hard to work in Bosaso 12 month straight in a year, for 3 months the whole city empties out due to the seasonal heat-wave.

Plus Bosaso lack strong electricity infrastructure to power enough A.C at the same time in all buildings of Puntland, since A.C is energy intensive, it's not like fridge, oven, TV, smartphone, or laptop that requires little energy supply.

Most of PL electricity providers only can support residential requirements and not all residential requirements like they can't support AC 24/7 across 10,000 household at the same time, imagine the 'energy' backbone you would need for such endeavour. They need to upgrade they're energy backbone in PL. This is just residential, forget talking about FACTORIES who use even larger energy intensive machines. That's why they say no reliable electricity infrastructure in PL will stop investments in manufacturing.

But back to Garowe. It was selected due to it's temperate weather but most importantly, it's location. You can access it from Las anod, Galkacyo, Bosaso-Qardho. It's basically in the middle, the capital can be defended if ever attacked. It's lucky geographic positioning allowed for it to become capital and it's stable weather. Hawiyes need to pass Galkacyo. Isaaq need to Pass OOG in Sool and Yubbe is another front-line to ensure calmadow supply for galgala stops.

That's why we need Darwish security points there, a strong border presence in those three areas are critical to PL security over all, especially our internal security. Without it, this will mean, PL cities are in jepordy.

But I am not happy Garowe was selected as a capital city, for every decision you take, there is a cost to that decision. My land is now shared with all Hartis, I feel like I have more rights in garowe then someone who just arrived in the last 10 years, but by law, I am not allowed to do that, since it's nominated the capital.

But it sucks cause my family and general sub-clan lived here for over 150 years(documented), to say I have the same right as someone who just arrived in 98 and on-wards, it's a pretty 'big kick in the teeth' especially the one who arrived in 98, his homeland is free of anyone coming in and claiming it.

The reason its the capital is why its grown this much. What use will it be to your clan if it remained a worthless small tulo? You got government institutions, airport, best hospitals etc right there for you instead of travelling. Never understood the unukaleh mentality.

I personally prefer keeping my land to myself as back-up insurance in-case the capital turns to shit like what happened to Mogadishu. I want somewhere my future descendants can re-start IF the capital collapses. I don't want to hand my kids the future outcome abgaal has now in 100 years.

But Bah Dubays IS sorted out, we got compensated land space in birta dheer for ourselves. So it's better then nothing I guess. The other thing is 'bragging' rights, I want to take my kids outside of the city and say to them 'awoowahina' dhulkan oo dhan ayuu idin dhaafay, halka dadyow kale magalada iyo booska yar gurigooda ayaa loo dhaafay. Land holdings is quite important to me, I don't want to only have small plot of land in a city.

Why would I? most white people run to the country side for a reason. OPEN SPACE, LAND, PEACE, AND QUIET. Plus if any resources are found, I am going to be rich as f*ck since I am not stuck in a city being a shacab with small land plot. My share of resources will match my land holdings in PL.

If your land holding is just small plot of land in a city, you will get PENNIES if gold or oil is exported. It's all based on land holdings in CAPITALISM, unless of course you want communist approach and divide the spoils of the state equally to everyone irrespective of any differences.

These people are crazy, if you leave them a dusty tuulo they will complain about a lack of investment from government

If they get the best development that is possible via capital city appointment, mehh tuulo and history calaacals begin.

Interesting point to note from the video. Seems like Nugaal has a tank division and not only Mudug. Does Karkaar/Bari also?

Ciise maxmuud secured a sizable L, when they wandered into enemy territory thinking it was friendly and lost a tank plus a detachment back in 2018 tukaraq:uCkf6mf:

Nice attempt at instigating bonbon but that was Cumar Maxamuud.
I was in garowe at that time, my very own seedi who is ciise and worked for ministrer of planning told me ciise maxmud wey ceyboobeen that day. Then he said they need to recover from that incident as a clan. I was only quoting him saxib, nothing malicious

I saw pictures of Garoowe and absolutely loved them, one thing that separated this city from others how organized the buildings/houses looked from a birds eye view. It shows there was city planning with the design and structure. :)

The tank detachment marched forward thinking they would see ciise boys, little did they know the ciise boys were ordered back from the ftontlines to garowe because of politics(by sicid dheere) in the moddle of the damn engagement. the tank detachment went straight into SL territory and hollered at the first military shrouded men, who they understandably thought were PL. The moment SL troops caught scent of the confusion they opened fire and took the tank.
