The teenage brother of the man killed by Amber Guyger has embraced her in an amazing act of forgiveness just moments after the cop was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Guyger was sentenced in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday by the same jury that convicted her a day earlier of murdering Botham Jean.

Jean's 18-year-old brother Brandt, who was allowed to give a victim impact statement in court shortly after the sentence was handed down, told Guyger that he forgave her and that he thinks his slain brother would want her to turn herself over to Christ.

'If you truly are sorry, I forgive you. I know if you go to God and ask him he will forgive you,' Brandt said to Guyger in the courtroom.

'I love you just like anyone else. I'm not going to say I hope you rot and die just like my brother did.

I am highly skeptical of anyone who will imply that an entire group of people who have one trait in common are like-minded.

All Somalis don't think alike so why do you assume that all white people are like-minded.

Anger and violence will only breed more hatred and evil. Did you know that Malcom x changed his approach towards solving racism and social injustice later on in his life.

The solution to eradicating racism is fighting ignorance with facts, debating bigots and peaceful protesting.

Attacking a teenage boy who is trying to heal from a great loss and a tragedy is not fighting racism walal. Calling a grieving young boy slurs such as simp, pussy, coon and will not eradicating racism. It will actually have the opposite result.

It seemed obvious to me religious idealism was the punchline here, not race.

Apart from that, the only thing I think played a part here is the fact that she’s a woman. Both in the sentencing (the law is kinder on women when they kill, bc it’s not as common as men killing, so it’s rationalized due to our physical vulnerability), and in public perception (including in the brother’s perception).

If it were a man that killed him, it would be viewed as colder and more intentional, by society and the brother, regardless of race.

Just because god can forgive her doesn't mean that we have to. That's an absurd standard to hold oneself to.

Im honestly not putting it past him angling to sex her and will ask to visit her in jail to pray. Millions on blk men marched in civil right movement wiith the goal and dream of fvcking white women. Anyway he is a sucker. 100% if she was blk woman he wouldnt do that
