My only trip to Norway was visiting a Norwegian student exchange that I befriended at a Uni in Australia and it was a fascinating place. She is an adopted Vietnamese Norwegian who grew up in a place called Fredristad (visited) and she works in Oslo. Now, she is a human Rights Lawyer and she doesn't mince her words when it comes to racism. She told me, like in Australia, Norway is a tolerant place and whatever prejudices one carries towards minorities, it is viewed as un-Norwegian to openly and explicitly display prejudices against the "others". Opportunities are plenty and one would be offered a 'fair go' in a job/workplace and most minorities work harder and more diligent than the locals, she added. What do I care of what others think about me as long as they give me my space and my own opportunity to thrive?

Couldn't agree more. People are holding Norway to a higher standard than other countries because there isn't much to complain about. That's really it — spoiled idiots. Norway is very connected to other Western countries, so it's not socially isolated. People make it seem like it is socially like Japan or something. I'm robbing these people by taking advantage of the opportunities structured before me, and there are mf's feeling like victims while its the country with the best freedom and human rights track records — literally the most PC Whites.
I've never watched that series, but one of the actors is from The Sopranos.

Sxb, we Somalis like to bring our dysfunctional culture to places that offered us human dignity and decency and allowed us to thrive. For example, after I watched a video of a hundred Somali families busted for welfare fraud on a single day in Norway, the gentleman who ran the welfare office stated, ‘we want to support our single mothers financially, well enough for them to raise a healthy and decent families that shouldn’t be struggling for finances for their families in a place like Norway, therefore, we are shocked the scale of the numbers of Somali families that were involved in this fraud.’ 100 husbands and fathers were caught either hiding in the closets or under the beds. Due to our corrupt nature, most of us became bereft of any respect, morals and principles. Add terrorism, crime and violence to the list. As a self destructive people to our own reputation, we attract the wrath of others, so who’s to blame? How can we blame them for being “racists”?

Sxb, I’m not too negative, the fact is the overwhelming majority (bar Canada and those tahriibs to Germany) of the western countries have stopped accepting Somalis as refugees. Nowadays, Norway is the forefront of deporting them to Somalia, Somaliland and the other Somali areas they came from. If the majority of Somalis were decent, hardworking, law abiding citizens and minded our own business, Norway and other western countries would’ve sought more of us. We are the most dangerous people to our own interests.

What you need to look at is what that 1/4 difference equates to in the country ie how that disparity plays out on the ground. Comparing social mobility index to other countries doesn't give a full account of how inequalities affect those in question. If we were to compare similar stats for the same disparity levels ( those earning 1/4 of what the rich earn) in the uk/us and norway who do you think comes of worst ?
Let's just compare somalis living in the us, uk and norway which community is better of in terms of social mobility ? how is it that somalis residing in the US fare better economic wise despite the country scoring lower than norway in the social mobility index ?
It's not an issue of "cultural hubs" but one of opportunities, it's easier for immigrants in general to generate wealth both in an individual and community level in the US/UK than in norway. This is to due to these countries having a better system in place for immigrants to advance themselves even though they lack the stats that norway has.
When it comes to religion Uk is far ahead than US & Norway, this is partly to do with UK's historical past. Norway is more secular in terms of it's outlook and when you factor in it's adherence to socialist values you get this atmosphere where "deviation" from the norm isn't as tolerated as one would believe . I live in the uk at the moment and can attest to the difference in how muslims are treated.
Instead you have this "coercive" liberal social policy that oversees everything. Combine this with it's relative short experience of dealing with immigrants it's easy to understand how biases would play a significant role when it comes to how they treat immigrants so as to speak.
At the end of day we need to realise as long you're of an immigrant background and have different beliefs, outlook in life than the native population you will undoubtedly face challenges in one way or another. How big of challenge depends on the context and circumstance of said individual and how they react to it, some fare better than others. waa nolool walaal

There is a political party in Norway that solely exist to make life harder for immigrants. FRP was created right after the first Pakistani groups came around '70s and '80s which tells you about their intentions from the beginning. Those people literally try to find every excuse to limit immigrants chance to reside in the country. They do this with several other ethnic groups not exclusively with Somalis by checking for inconsistencies such as if they lied about their country of origin etc.
