Yoo

Eel eh?
They are all over Tik Tok and they look like they just arrived there lol
Those are the fobs, somalis weren't distinguished between other foreign ethnic groups back in the day but ever since the wave of refugees somalis made themselves known, in a bad way of course. I personally know some fobs from xamar that tahriibed to germany, its crazy.

Do you live in Germany? Yeah I figured a lot of Somalis got there in recent years because we didn’t hear much about Somalis in Germany.

warya @The alchemist gabdhaha beenta ka jooji

@TheShinning your observation waa spot on when you were in moss. outside of the big cities you will have a similar experience. Despite being a citizen myself i get the same reaction when i travel across the country.

The type of racism prevalent here for the most part is subtle but institutional to the letter, more so than uk and us. The biggest cons over here relates to issues around social mobility, practising diinta, cultural assimilation, crime (among the boys) etc. If you do come back i would suggest that you have a go at the fjord cruises, scenery is breath taking :banderas:. You have the option of travelling the entire coast of the country in 12 days lakiin waa qaali around $6000

Soo dhawoow baan ku iri walaal

Personally I'm in love with Norway ! I'm want to visit tromso and check the northern lights. Then the fjords.

You are disingenuous. Norwegians can be more reserved in smaller areas, and they would be more xenophobic on average, but that's generally the same reception you would get in small cities in every western country. In fact, it's far less than in other places.

How is it institutionally worse than other countries when on record it is the country with the highest social mobility and egalitarianism, least difference between people in the top of the socioeconomic ladder and the people at the bottom. I guess that meme went over your head while being a victim in Norway.:mjlol:

There are relatively low crime rates in Norway.

This place is not perfect at all, but there's an abundance of privilege, so the pros outweigh the cons considerably.

What you are failing to account for is the disparity that exists between ethnic norwegians and immigrants. Social mobility ladder for an ethnic norwegian is drastically different than lets say a somali despite the country having a higher social mobility index. Once you factor in ethnic backgrounds of the people you will notice a huge difference in terms of social mobility.

The points that you raised while being true was a generalisation of the country a whole, while i was giving a more specific answer as relating to somalis. Having a higher index does not account for the reality on the ground which is the difference that exists between ethnic norwegians and immigrants.

There are more somalis who have their own business and houses in the uk than norway despite norway having a higher index , why do you think this is so ? it's easier to practise islam in the uk than in norway even though muslims face more hosilities in the uk . Norway also has a higher freedom of religion index as well

I agree it's not prefect and there's a lot of pros when it comes to certain aspects but let's not overlook the reality on the ground and pretend otherwise. You and me both differ in how we look at things and i do believe that most of it is due to our lived experiences. From what i remember you're not a muslim and as such you'll overlook certain matters which you deem are not worthy and that's where the difference comes in i believe.

One of the exciting things that i have ever done was to try and ride an elg (norwegian moose), i call it geelkanorskaha :chrisfreshhah:.

Language barrier is a massive issue. They will always hire a native Norwegian speaker over a foreigner.

Sophie you don’t want to live in Norway, last time I was there the cadaans looked like they never seen a Muslim woman or black, you will die out of boredom, I visited a family member who lived in a town called moos(sp?) their source of entertainment was going to the mall, you should’ve seen how hyped and proud they were of this little mall :noneck:
:mjlol::mjlol:

25 years ago Sweden was superior than Norway in every sense. Butvthe swedes played themselves with letting in too much rubbish people. Norway is beautiful. But its a boring country and its expensive as hell. Having said that they do have the most beaut9women in the world together with their cousins Sweden

I am a Muslim, sxb.

Minorites perform worse than the natives in most counties. But still, if you account for all those factors, the stats clearly show that the disparity between the richest and the poorest (minorities), is only 1/4 as stated in the video. And the society has certain mechanism that allows all people to climb up the social ladder much quicker than f.ex the US. I don't know much about the Somalis in the UK, but Norway is much better systematically generally.

On the religious aspects, you think it's better for Somalis in the UK, maybe you're right. I don't have an opinion on that. Though I don't believe this country stops you from being a Muslim.

And I'm not a blind to reality either. The two other countries we mentioned are cultural hubs, which means they have a bigger and more vibrant social spheres. Norway is socially a downgrade if you come from those bigger countries. There's a trade-off, I guess.
