To be honest there isn't a real need to migrate all the power to conduits underground. Even in my city there are many older neighbourhoods that still have overhead power and comms. lines. Later down the track when there is a need to upgrade the system they will be migrated.

Other cities around the world have dizzying webs of power lines. Like cities in Japan.

I personally think they look kind of cool. Maybe I'm just weird.
