Ahmed Madoobe personalized his rule of Jubaland to an extent where if he were removed the whole project would collapse. This is of course bad in the long run, but it has provided stability that was unknown in Kismayo prior to him. I support him, but he is starting to look like any other strongman.

If you don't mind strong men what strong man was better than Siad Barre but we know why you wouldn't support him
You think the funds of alshabab come from kismayo port? They come directly from arab pockets and their greatest supporters are hawiye and raxanweyn. Its more likely all there tools, such as chemicals and weapons are undocked in Mogadishu.
These are UN reports, not hearsay.
Siad Barre was a strong man who was developing Hawiye inhabited regions at the expense of all other Somalis. Under Siad barre the only regions being developed were Banadir and Middle/Lower Shabelle.
I am not against a Marehan strongman ruling Jubaland. If I had a choice I would have made Abdiweli Sheekh Ahmed president of Jubaland.

Tbh half the stories that I read on that issue seem unreliable.
It could've been shitty concession that Madobe had to make in order to get something worthwhile in return.
Then again that's a lot less damaging than the Ethiopians who are clearly behind the reason federal states can't agree on an constitution while Madobe was pushing for it.
I only care about the bigger issues. Unfortunately that's how low we've gotten in this shit show. Picking one poison over the other.
