This type of "banter" is malicious and pretty hateful. It's pretty much modern group bullying, where the perpetrators hide behind "banter" and the victim either accepts it as banter when he's actually being laughed at, or the victim breaks like the traditional bully victim.



I remember high school when this was the case with an asian and an algerian/norwegian classmate. The asian guy got pretty much laughed at/bullied (more so behind his back) but accepted it as banter and would occasionally join in in the group banter so that he could hold up the illusion of "friendly banter". The other guy got used, bantered and then completely cut himself off from the rest of the group. @CaliTedesse tbh you sound eerily similar to that Asian fella





The more trashy/poor/"diverse" the environment, the higher chance you continue with the "banter culture" that is essentially a pecking order within the lower groups of society That's why you gotta stand proud, tall and ready with a comeback at all times

A tribunal awarded him more than £54,000 over the abuse - in which he was branded a 'n****r', 'immigrant' and a 'foreign c***'.

One worker posted a Snapchat image of Mr Hoch's head superimposed onto the body of a starving black child with the words: 'Donate £1 a month to save this poor child'.

And another mocked-up image of him next to a black African woman carrying a child, read: 'Congratulations Wayne on the newborn'.

Mr Hoch today said he was left suicidal over the abuse at the Cumbria-based firm.

His boss, company co-director Thor Atkinson, claimed the taunts were just 'office banter'.

Mr Hoch, who worked as a buyer from 2014 until resigning in 2018, said: 'They degraded me, humiliated me and left me depressed and anxious.
