Hijab is on an extreme end, whether people like to admit it or not. Everything that makes you feminine, including the hair on your goddamn head is to be shrouded. I felt my femininity was robbed with hijab.

Think about it: the aim of hijab is to make you as sexless as possible. You’re basically as not a woman as visually possible.
The aim of the hijab as sent down was to reinforce modesty for woman. The jews of bani israel had them. Mary mother of jesus had it. The early disciples of jesus had it.
You still are a woman. The hijab does not make any less of a woman. Unless you're idea of a woman is to correlates to wearing as little clothes as possible. In which case you have more in common with workers in a red light district

It’s not about wearing as little as possible. Everyday, I was dressing to tiptoe around the fact that I’m a girl instead of just being a girl. As a girly girl in appearance prior to trying out hijab, it was a disaster. I couldnt even do basic things like fo my hair. I couldnt wear polish, nothing. It’s erasing your female form. It’s distorting your relationship with your own body/femininity. It’s actually disturbing, truth be told. And I’m not just saying that just to say it. That was my experience. But I’m an n of 1.
