My family lived in the South for the past few hundred years, but they are tribally from the North. That is what she was referring to. I don't have any Southie ancestry whatsoever, not even ethnic Somali Southie.

Mine came in the late 1700s. But they migrated like gypsies (an entire sub-clan) and refused to integrate.:mjlol:

Now they all left the South due to the civil war and are dispersed like gypsies in the Western diaspora. :russ:

My parents and older relatives do, but I don't. They don't speak it between themselves, only when they meet Rahanweyn people or visit Bay. Between themselves they speak only Standard Somali (Maxaa) with an oddly neutral (non-regional) sounding dialect/accent.

I noticed their maxaa Somali to be non regional accent and perfectly articulated than when my dad and his mate who were born and grew up in Hamar speak to one another. They couldn’t speak the local Abgaal accent which would’ve been better to articulate, but nooh’s few Somali sentences plugged with Italian words and Russian.

French are hilarious they always make documentaries about women being scammed in North Africa. Last time they did one about them and hypocrisy. They called it : love and sex in NA. They always try to provoke them. The comments under the video were absolutely EPIC. I think they had to take it down for some time.
