But then again if you're a divorcee and have already experienced a big wedding then accepting a small nikah sounds more realistic. I don't see this as settling for less since she already has a failed marriage under her belt and would be generally more desperate compared to a never married Xalimo.

The groom still needs to be vetted properly by her Wali to make sure he has correct intentions.

To be honest, you'll never know who you're dealing with until you've lived with or traveled with that person. Your job is to do everything right by Allahs swt standards and leave the rest to him by making duah and istikhara.

Just the way the world works. I know a Jamaican revert who married divorced somali woman with 6 kids and older than him. He had no kids or anything. 8 months marriaged stayed with her and lived off her to get his life in order. He managed to make hee pregnant....still left her before kid was born. Its a cold world out there

People try to outsmart religious rules everyday tbh. I mean some salafis marry out women by saying the womens family is not salafi, so they are not real muslims and cant be wali. There are so many devious religious people out there.
